This laminate sailcloth is a film on film laminate made of 100% EURO PEN warp, fill and X (45 degree) yarn with two layers of Mylar film. This is the ultimate racing fabric. EURO PEN modulus is 2 1/2 times higher than PET (standard Dacron) and since modulus is a measure of a fiber's ability to resist stretching, sails made with EURO PEN fibers will stretch less and hold their designed shape longer.
A sailcloth's weight is measured in terms of the ounces of a 36" x 28.5" piece.
