Brass rings can be used with eyelets at the corners of sails and anywhere a purchase on fabric is required. The rings are first sewn to the fabric with sail twine (this makes them much stronger than any "pressed" grommet like the brass spur grommet.) Then the eyelet grommets are pressed inside to protect the thread from chafe. Use the same numbered ring and eyelet, e.g., a #9 ring and a #9 eyelet.
