Polyester Thread
  Polyester thread is the workhorse thread in the sailmaking and canvas industry. It is inexpensive and nevertheless extremely durable in an outdoor environmnent. Use it for sewing canvas, sails, and much more. Sailrite sells thread weights: V-30 (lightest), V-46, V-69, V-92 and V-138 (heaviest).  
Thread V-30 White Polyester UV 1oz (725 Yds)
Bonded Dabond (polyester) thread has set the industry standard in sailmaking and canvas sewing threads.
V-30, polyester thread is the lightest weight, is used with a No. 12 or 14 needle and fabric of less than 1-1/2 ounces.
