| Lifetime Guarantee Thread (Teflon) |
| Tenara (Gore-Tex) is the most durable outdoor thread ever produced. It has a lifetime warranty, even in tropical environments. Other threads fail after 3 to 5 years in the sun, this 100% PTFE fiber commonly known as Teflon thread will not. There is no better canvas sewing thread on the market for longevity. | |

| Polyester Thread |
| Polyester thread is the workhorse thread in the sailmaking and canvas industry. It is inexpensive and nevertheless extremely durable in an outdoor environmnent. Use it for sewing canvas, sails, and much more. Sailrite sells thread weights: V-30 (lightest), V-46, V-69, V-92 and V-138 (heaviest). | |

| Nylon Thread |
| Nylon Thread is best used for indoor upholstery. This thread is not particularly good in sunlight. | |

| Monofilament Thread |
| Monofilament Thread is primarily used in upholstery because of its strength and its "sewability". Durability in sunlight is not very good. | |

| Use when hand sewing. Much larger than the thread that would be used in a sewing machine. Wax is used to lubricate and protect the twine as it is pulled through the fabric again and again. | |
