Head Rod Molding for Awnings 8' is an aluminum head rod molding used to mount the head of a stationary awning. This molding is designed to be used with 1/2" EMT pipe filled hem installed along the head of the awning.
Aluminum head rod molding provides easy rafter adjustment and eliminates the awkward task of threading awning rope or boltrope through an end slot. Simply position the 1/2" EMT pipe in the head rod molding and hold in place under the lip of the molding with finger clips. Finger clips ride in a track in the molding and can be adjusted to move laterally right or left.
A unique feature with this awning mounting system is the precision and adjustability of the jaw ends (which hold the rafters), even if the mounting surface is uneven or the mounting supports are not located where the rafters should be. Once the molding is mounted, the jaw ends (rafters) can be slid to their proper location.
Head Rod Molding for Awnings 8'Specifications:
Aluminum construction
Use with 1/2 inch diameter pipe filled hem (1/2" EMT pipe in sleeve)
Attach with carriage bolts (not included) to wall surface
Easy to use and install

Recommended rafter spacing is 1-1/2 feet in from each side and then 3 to 5 feet apart in the center depending on projection (the longer the rafters, the less spacing inbetween). Awning rafters attach to special jaw ends that mount in a track in the lower side of the molding. The awning molding is designed so a bead of calking can be applied along the top length of the molding to prevent water from leaking behind the molding and down the wall.
Attach head rod molding to wall surface using carriage bolts (not included). Holes must be drilled in the head rod molding for each carriage bolt used to attach to the wall surface.
