These Dot Brand Lift the Dot fasteners work for cloth-to-cloth applications. They are strong and heavy duty and lock on three sides—to open lift the fourth side. We stock only those manufactured from nickel plated brass for use in marine environment where they will not rust or corrode.
4 Ways to Install the Lift-the-Dot Socket:
Use a knife to cut 4 small slits in the fabric for the socket's teeth and pliers to secure the socket to the backing plate. Then cut the center hole out with knife or hot knife.
Use the “Lift The Dot Hole Cutter” to punch holes for the center hole and 4 slits for the legs at the same time. Insert the socket into the slits and backplate on the back side then bend the 4 prongs over with pliers.
Use the “Lift The Dot Deluxe Hand Punch” to punch the center hole and 4 slits with an lever action tool.
The “Snapmaster Hand Press” can punch the hole & 4 slits all at once. Then it can press the Lift the Dot socket into place bending the 4 legs over the back plate.
2 Ways to Install the Lift the Dot Prong Stud:
To install the stud, cut 2 small slits with a knife in the fabric for its teeth and bend the teeth over its Washer.
Use the “Lift the Dot Hand Punch” to cut slits for the prong stud and then bend the teeth over its Washer.
