Matching Thread Colors to Sunbrella® Marine & Awning Fabric (PDF)

Not sure which thread color will be the best match for your Sunbrella^® fabric? We’ve carefully color paired our outdoor threads — Tex 70 and Tex 90 Polyester, Tenara and Sailrite (formerly Profilen^®) — with Sunbrella colors so you can order with confidence. We've created a handy downloadable chart listing all of the fabric and thread color pairings so you can easily locate which Sunbrella fabric color you have and pair it with the perfect thread color for a perfect match!

Over a dozen popular Sunbrella fabric colors have A&E Sunstop thread that is an exact color match. For the remaining fabrics, we have made our best suggestions based on the thread colors available. It’s important to remember that colored polyester thread will fade over time. If you’re not sure on a color to use, we suggest white thread — it lends a classic look to any project. We use white thread for a lot of our Sunbrella marine canvas projects because the look of the white stitching adds a nice look for a timeless appearance. Plus, white thread shows off the beautiful stitchwork!
