The Professional is a full size, rotary machine that features a powered "Walking Foot" similar to the Ultrafeed’s but with a large hook and bobbin mechanism to reduce the frequency of bobbin winding and allow for the use of very heavy thread. It sews a 5mm long straight stitch and a 10 mm wide zigzag stitch. Maximum sewing speed is 1550 stitches per minute with the included MC-SCR motor and controller (The Professional head is rated to handle up to 2500 spm - running the machine slowly increases reliability). It has reversing capability.
Instead of a standard 2-point zigzag stitch, this Sailrite Professional Sewing Machine is fitted with a cam making the zigzag stitch a 4-point stitch. The 4-point zigzag can reduce production time because it requires only one seam. It is especially useful for spinnakers and one design sailmaking.
