For Colorful Spinnakers, Staysails, Drifters, Kites. Ripstop (Nylite 60) .5oz is woven from nylon with a heavier thread at close intervals across the cloth and along its length. The result is a continuous series of small squares evident in the material and an increased ability to prevent tears. Although ripstop is an extremely light weight fabric, this construction, coupled with the inherent strength of nylon, gives it surprising durability.
This is the most popular ripstop for all-purpose spinnakers, asymmetrical racing spinnakers and staysails. It is also used for kites.
