SEW IT YOURSELF - Make your own sail cover with the Sailrite Sail Cover Kit for Booms to 19 Feet. A mainsail cover is designed to cover and protect the mainsail when flaked. The sail cover will fasten under the boom with Common Sense (twist lock) fasteners featuring a snap button finish to provide a great looking finish and reduce chafe. The sail cover will secure around the mast with a marine zipper. This sail cover pattern features pre-plotted long-lasting Sunbrella fabric for easy construction and requires only a sewing machine and scissors to complete. Approximate construction time: 4 hours.

Sailrite Sail Cover Kit for Booms to 19' includes:
  • Pre-patterned Sunbrella fabric
  • Twist lock fasteners with snap buttons
  • Snap fastener installation tool
  • White marine zipper
  • White UVR polyester thread
  • Dacron leech line
  • Leather(for chafe protection and halyard sling slits if needed)
  • Basting tape (double-sided tape for Sunbrella)
  • Written sailcover instructions

    Lazy Jack Slits: The mainsail cover pattern instructions include directions for creating lazy jack slits. If required, order an additional 6 feet of 1" acrylic binding tape and 3 Common Sense (twist-lock) fasteners for EACH slit.

    To determine which sail cover kit is right for your boat, measure the length of the boom (dimension "E") from the mast to its end (not including the mast width). Choose the kit with length equal to or greater then the length of your boom.
