This UV treated YKK Delrin zipper is practically weather proof and very strong. It has been scientifically designed to resist damage from ultraviolet rays and corrosion. YKK zippers work well in the marine environment. Use it in sail covers, jib luff sleeves, jackets and much more.
Finished zipper lengths can be shortened easily by cutting the end that is last closed. Whip the cut ends with sail twine or secure a piece of leather over the teeth so that the slider cannot be pulled off. Or, for a more finished look, remove two zipper teeth from the waste, on each cut end place a tooth between the two top teeth and melt the three teeth together with a hot knife.
These YKK zippers come with a single pull slider which can only be opened from one side. The number 10 zipper has teeth roughly 5/16" wide when closed.
