Sailrite's Fort Lauderdale Location Offers Classes
Matthew and Eric Grant offer courses with three sessions each day at the Ft. Lauderdale store. Sessions are each 2 hours long with a break in-between. There will be ample time for questions and a great deal of hands on project examples.
 
Condensed Outline

Session 1.
Sail and Canvas Repair–discussion of seam types and use of basting tape, thread and needles, cutting tools, patching techniques, boltrope repairs, batten pocket repairs, zippers, window replacement, grommets and webbing rings, snaps and other fasteners

Session 2.
Building Boat Cushions–discussion of foam, covering materials, measuring and cutting foam, cutting fabric pieces, making piping, cushion assembly, inserting foam

Session 3.
Use and Care of Sewing Machines–how a sewing machine works, do’s and don’ts for beginners, repowering a home machine, springs and tension, feeding issues, skips and frays, timing, keeping your machine in good repair

The store is located no more than 10 minutes from the Fort Lauderdale FLL Airport. There are many hotels within walking distance of the store. Class days offered are on days that the retail store is closed. Participants will have the run of the store and may make purchases during breaks.
