Rigid struts take the place of webbing straps to support dodger and bimini frames. The use of these struts greatly increases the strength of the frames at the cost of quick and easy knockdown. Many cruisers find this trade-off well worthwhile.

Installing Rigid Support Struts on a Dodger
This video shows using rigid supports on a dodger. We substituted the standard flat mount plate with the Quick Release Flat Mount Plate (item #103051), so a quick release pin could be used. Now the struts can be released quickly. NOTE: Quick release hardware #103051 and #103053 is not included in this kit.
