This pocket end protector is for use with flat battens like our pultruded or tapered battens to 1 1/2". The protector includes machine screws and nuts. Use when boltrope is inserted in slot or with slugs above and below the protector.
Battens are a constant source of wear in all sails. But fully-battened sails constitute a special problem since their battens are tied in under pressure to help give the sail draft. The result is that the battens tend to poke their way through the sail at its luff unless special protectors are installed.
