The most efficient way to bend a foresail on is to slide it into a Headfoil, Streamstay, Reefer, Twin Stay, Sea Furl, Gemini, Tuff Luff or similar grooved extrusion fitting over the headstay. #6 is the most popular size used.
In place of jib snaps, a hard braided rope is used all along the leading edge of the sail. A second 1/8" backup cord is installed just behind the first to keep the sail from jamming.
6oz Dacron tape with both lines installed, width of tape 5".
For roller furling systems & grooved headstays.
