The result is a continuous series of small squares evident in the material and an increased ability to prevent tears. Although ripstop is an extremely light weight fabric, this construction, coupled with the inherent strength of nylon, gives it surprising durability.
This Nylite 90 is the most popular 3/4 oz ripstop sailcloth for all-purpose spinnakers, asymmetrical racing spinnakers and staysails. This fabric is also used for kites.
