50' Sacrificial Sunbrella Sail Suncover Kit

Item Number: 102881
Sale Unit: Each

The best fabrics for sacrificial use are Sunbrella® and 4oz Insignia UV Dacron®. The Dacron® is much lighter than the Sunbrella® so it is a good choice for boats under 30 feet or so, but Sunbrella® has unparalleled durability in sunlight which makes it the most common choice.

The sacrificial strip should be wide enough to span the gap between the edge of the sail as it is rolled onto the forestay plus about 6 inches (to allow for sloppy furling).  If the sail is not available for measurement in its furled state, the table below can be used to determine width.

Boat LOA 20 Feet 25 Feet 35 Feet 45 Feet 50 Feet
Foot Width 10 Inches 14 Inches 14 Inches 18 Inches 20 Inches
Leech Width 14 Inches 18 Inches 20 Inches 24 Inches 26 Inches

This kit is complete with Sunbrella® fabric, outdoor UV treated thread, seamstick, spray adhesive and installation instructions.
