Foam Luff Tape 12" (Not Adhesive Backed)

Foam Luff Tape 12" is added to a sail’s luff when preparing a sail for rollerfurling. A foam luff pad helps to flatten the sail as it is furled. A flatter sail reduces heeling and makes the boat easier to steer. This closed-cell foam luff tape is easy to cut and sew in single thicknesses.

Foam luff pads should be tapered toward top and bottom at installation so its effect is proportional to the width of the sail when it is rolled. By bulking up the roll, the center of the sail remains flat. A protective covering of UV Insignia Dacron^® will need to be added over the foam after installation.
