Stainless Steel snap fasteners are much "tougher" than the normal plated brass ones. They are more resistant to damage from impact with the dock or another boat than their softer brethren. They do not necessarily provide better holding power.
These snap fasteners are to be used for "cloth-to-cloth" attachment. The "stud" is riveted in place with an "eyelet" and the "socket" is riveted in place with a "button".
Snap fasteners are excellent for covers, cushions, dodgers, etc. They can also be used as forestay hanks for sails under 100 square feet when installed on appropriate tabs of fabric or webbing.
These snap fasteners are made from 100% stainless steel. They are highly resistant to corrosion and top quality.
An installation tool is required.
