These Lift The Dot fasteners are strong, heavy duty fasteners that work for cloth-to-surface applications so long as stress is largely in shear. They are often used to secure boat covers with the studs mounted under the rub rail where they will not be damaged.
Made of nickel plated brass for use in marine environment where they will not rust or corrode.
4 Ways to Install the Lift-the-Dot Socket:
Use a knife to cut 4 small slits in the fabric for the socket's teeth and pliers to secure the socket to the backing plate. Then cut the center hole out with knife or hot knife.
Use the Lift The Dot Hole Cutter to punch holes for the center hole and 4 slits for the legs at the same time. Insert the socket into the slits and backplate on the back side then bend the 4 prongs over with pliers.
Use the Lift The Dot Deluxe Hand Punch to punch the center hole and 4 slits with an lever action tool.
The Snapmaster Hand Press can punch the hole & 4 slits all at once. Then it can press the Lift the Dot socket into place bending the 4 legs over the back plate. Installing the Lift-the-Dot Screw Stud: A small pilot hole is all that is needed to start the Lift the Dot Stud installation.
