Premium Quality STAMOID use it everywhere — for console covers, spray hoods, convertible tops, mooring covers, dodgers, biminis, sun awnings & many other protective covers!
Completely waterproof, easily cleanable with a mild solution of liquid detergent and warm water, cool to sit under, folds and stores well, and makes a great looking product!
Vinyl coated woven polyester Stamoid has a 5 year warranty and a life expectancy of up to 10 years. Due to its high tenacity woven polyester construction this fabric does not show the humidity sagging problem common to many marine fabrics.
Not only does it not expand, it also does not shrink appreciably. Shrinkage is less than 1/2 of 1% — covers and enclosure panels can be removed wet or dry and when replaced their fasteners will attach right back in place throughout the fabric's life.
Two weights are available: 8.3 oz. & 12.7 oz. The 8.3 oz. weight is super light and yet strong. It holds up well and is very easily folded & stowed. The 12.7 weight is vinyl coated on both sides for excellent tear strength and easy cleaning on both sides. It also folds well for storing. The smooth feeling, dimpled side of Stamoid is the outer side. Note, however, that the 12.7 oz. Stamoid Tweed has been coated with two different colors. Some prefer to use the darker of the two colors as the underside of a structure to reduce glare.

Stamoid 12.7oz Snow White 59" is a railroaded pattern |
Reduce Seaming with Railroaded Fabric
Most upholstery fabric is 54 inches wide and, if it features a pattern, the pattern is run down the length of the bolt. When upholstering, it generally looks best to run a patterned fabric from the top to the bottom of the piece and from the back to the front. This requires seams every 54 inches on larger pieces like sofas and long boat cushions. Alternatively, a Railroaded fabric pattern can be used to eliminated unwanted seams. The patterns in Railroaded Sunbrellas run across their widths. This makes Railroaded Sunbrella perfect for these longer projects.

In this illustration, the fabric rolls out to cover the cushions without need for a seam. |

In this illustration the fabric rolls out vertically, and for this type of single cushion, would require several seams to cover the couch.
