Durable Beast

The base for this machine is every bit as sturdy as the machine itself. Nice job!

Best machine!

This machine is fantastic! I have never sewed before so I bought a used (old) machine. I was pulling my hair out. I decided if I had any chance of making nice boat cushions I needed the best. Best choice I ever made!

I love your sewing machine

I love your sewing machine and I love your service and Matt is wonderful with his help and knowledge. The items I purchased are wonderful I am very pleased top quality at a fair price.

Awesome machine that rips through heavy materials. Slow speed control is the only real weak point.

I purchased a Sailrite LS-1 to sew the cushions on my 1990 Catalina 30, but I imagine I will find many other uses for the machine in the future. There are a lot of pros and cons to this machine so here goes:

Pros: 1. Very strong motor. Punches through everything I’ve thrown at it so far- including 4 layers of Sunbrella. 2. Packaged well and arrives well tuned. 3. Good build quality. Everything is heavy duty and heavy in weight! 4. Mine came with a free needle! 5. Moving from forward to reverse is very easy with the spring loaded lever. Seamlessly moves back and forth. 6. Walking foot makes working with heavy material so easy.

Cons: 1. Set up is difficult. The machine is very heavy and it’s hard to guide the machine onto the support hinges. 2. The tools provided are insufficient to set up the machine. You will need larger screw drivers to get everything together. 3. The slow speed control is awful. It is impossibly difficult to maintain a slow stitch speed. It will speed up or stop even without the amount of foot pressure changing. 4. There are no guide lines to indicate seam allowance. Most machines I’ve seen mark out 1/8, 1/4, 1/5inch distances from the needle so you know how much seam allowance you’re using. Did Sailrite drop this feature to force sales of their $30 magnetic sewing guide? 5. Adjusting the stitch length is a hassle. You have to unscrew parts and adjust the slider and then secure it again.
