Spur grommets are not as strong as sewn rings, but they are much more quickly installed. Do not confuse these grommets with the common washer grommets that are sold in hardware stores everywhere. Spur grommets are of heavier metal with spurs all around the inside rim of the washer that lock into a rolled edge on the barrel part of the grommet. As a result, they will not easily pull out of the fabric.
These grommets have a 7/16-inch hole. They will work with a minimum material thickness of 0.058 inch (or three layers of marine grade acrylic fabric) and a maximum material thickness of 0.216 inch (or nine layers of marine grade acrylic fabric).
Note: Spur grommets cannot be installed with common washer grommet tools. Use a #3 die with a #3 spur grommet.
