Online Orders

Find products by typing in keywords or part numbers in the search box or by selecting a category from the navigation bar at the top of each page. Our search engine will return a list of relevant products and/or videos. Refine down your list as necessary using the attributes in the left column (e.g. Color, Price, Brand, etc.). Click on any item to see its complete description and pricing. Click on the green "Add to Cart" button to add the product to your shopping cart.

Once you have placed the items you want to purchase in your cart, either click on "Continue Shopping" or "View Cart & Checkout." If you're ready to check out, proceed to your Shopping Cart to review the items in your cart. From there you can remove items, change item quantities, move items to your "Save for Later" list or go back and continue shopping. Click "Proceed to Checkout" and either log in or continue as a New Customer. Choose your desired shipping method and enter any payment information. You will always have the opportunity to review your order before the order is submitted.

Phone Orders

If you prefer, you can place your order by phone. We have friendly sales representatives standing by at our Indiana headquarters, ready to take your call. To expedite your ordering process, it is helpful if you have your account number and the part numbers of the products you wish to order handy when you call in.

Payment Methods

We accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express), checks, wire transfers (for orders over $500), or money orders in U.S. funds. Orders paid by check will be held for approximately 10 days or until the check clears. In the event your check is dishonored or returned for any reason, you authorize us to electronically (or by paper draft) re-present the check to your bank account for collection of the amount of the check, plus a $25.00 fee as permitted by state law. Sorry, no CODs (Cash on Delivery).

Registered customers can keep credit card information on file for future orders. Check the "Save My Credit Card Information" box on the payment information screen when placing an online order. Refer to Account Information to learn how to register.

International Customers: In some cases, first-time international customers will be required to fax a copy of their credit card with a SIGNED letter authorizing us to take payment on the card. You will be notified by email of this requirement. If you wish to pay with a wire transfer, please contact us for proper information.

Credit Card Authorization & Verification

All online orders are subject to credit card authorization and verification. To avoid any delays with your order, please make sure all billing information you provide us exactly matches your credit card issuing bank records.

Sailrite will not charge your credit card until your order has been shipped. Exceptions include special order items, customized kits and drop-shipped items. When you place your order, your credit card statement may show a pending charge that looks like it has been deducted from your account. This is an authorization hold your bank uses to reserve funds for your order. If your order is cancelled, your pending charges will be released within 3-7 days per your issuing credit card bank policies. You may contact your bank regarding authorization holds as policies may vary.

If your debit card is declined, please note that most banks have a daily purchase limit. Call your bank to verify if this is the case. Some banks will approve larger one-time purchases upon request.

Sailrite Coupon Codes & Gift Certificates

Ordering a Gift Certificate

Gift certificates are available for purchase by phone only. To order a gift certificate, give us a call. Gift certificates must be purchased on an account, so we will look up your existing account or create a new one for you.

Sailrite sells virtual gift certificates only. You may have the gift certificate emailed to yourself or directly to a recipient of your choice. You can also leave a custom message for the recipient. After payment has been processed your recipient will receive an email from Sailrite containing a gift certificate code and your custom message.

Using a Coupon Code or Gift Certificate

Any promotion code or gift certificate number should be entered at the payment screen during online checkout or mentioned by phone during the order process. Any discounts will be applied to the total of your order and will be available for review before the order is submitted.

If you received a gift certificate as a part of a promotion and the qualifying purchase is returned, your gift certificate will be voided. If the gift certificate has already been used, your refund for the qualifying item will be less the gift certificate amount.

Gift certificates can be purchased over the phone or issued as a refund. They are transferrable and can be used in conjunction with coupon codes. Limit one gift certificate per web store order. However, multiple gift certificate codes can be applied to one order over the phone. To check the balance on your gift certificate, just give us a call.

Purchased or gifted gift certificates expire after 3 years. All other gift certificates, including those issued for returned goods, expire after 90 days. Gift certificate expiration dates are listed in the confirmation email. If you return a purchase made using a gift certificate, your refund will be issued in a new gift certificate.

Gift certificates may be used to purchase any item from Sailrite’s website or catalogs. Sailrite gift certificates cannot be redeemed for cash nor applied to an existing balance on a trade account.

Sales Tax Information

When the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2018 in favor of the state in South Dakota v. Wayfair Inc., states were, for the first time ever, allowed to collect sales tax from out-of-state online retailers, among other remote businesses. What this means is that Sailrite now must comply with individual state legislatures and charge sales tax in applicable states.

Sailrite collects sales tax on all non-exempt, shipped orders going to all applicable states, and on all non-exempt orders picked up at our facility. Online retailer sales tax laws may change due to new legislation. Any tax you owe will be automatically calculated and added to your order total during the checkout process, whether you order by phone or online.

Other states require that their residents file a use tax return for items purchased out of state, unless exempt. Your purchase is not exempt merely because it is placed on the internet or by phone. You should visit your state's Department of Revenue website and review tax laws to comply with your state's tax laws. We also advise that you print and keep your order confirmation emails for your records in order to comply with any use taxes your state enforces.

Tax Exempt Sales Tax Information

To qualify for tax exemption, you must register through Avalara, our third-party affiliate that collects and manages Sales Tax and Exemption Certificates. Prior to registering with Avalara, you must know your Sailrite account number and have an address registered to your account. When logged in, your account number is displayed in the header bar at the top of any Sailrite webpage (or in the menu on mobile devices).

New Sailrite Customers:

If you do not have a Sailrite account, you must create one first in order to be eligible to register for tax exemption.

  • To create a Sailrite account, go to Sailrite.com and click the "Login" link at the top of the webpage in the white header (or in the menu on mobile devices).
  • Create a username and password and complete the required fields.
  • To add your mailing address, click "Overview" to access the "My Account" page. Find and select the "Create New Address" button under the "Shipping" section, and complete the form.

Existing Sailrite Customers:

In order to access your account number and mailing address, you must be logged in.

  • To log in to your account, click the "Login" link at the top of the webpage in the white header (or in the menu on mobile devices) and sign in to your account.
  • You can go to your account and find the mailing address you have registered with us by clicking "Overview" to access the "My Account" page.

When you have your account number and mailing address, email this information to accounting@sailrite.com and our accounting department will send you an email from Avalara with a link to register for sales tax exemption. Do not email Sailrite until you have your account number and mailing address on file. Do not send exemption certificates to Sailrite. You will be charged sales tax until your information has been submitted and approved by Avalara. Sales tax cannot be refunded once it has been charged.

If you qualify for tax exemption yet are being charged sales tax when you complete an order, you need to submit your tax exempt paperwork through Avalara. If you previously submitted tax exempt paperwork through a different process, that paperwork is no longer valid. Refer to the process listed above for more information. You will continue to be charged sales tax until your forms have been submitted via the proper channels. If you are an international customer using a freight forwarder and your order destination is to a state with economic nexus, you will be charged sales tax — even if your order is being forwarded internationally. Consider a direct shipping option to your country, if possible, to avoid paying U.S. sales tax.

Backorders

Domestic Backorders

If an item is backordered for less than 5 days we will hold the entire order to ship it complete. If the backorder is expected to take longer, we will typically ship what items are in stock and the backorder(s) when it arrives (you will not be charged any additional delivery if a backorder must be sent separately) unless otherwise specified by the customer. If a fabric sample is not available it will be removed from the order, it will not be backordered.

International Backorders

We will hold an order for up to 7 days to ship everything complete. Should an item on the order take longer than a week for us to receive we will either continue to hold the order until the backordered item(s) arrive or we will delete the item(s) from the order. In some cases we may make substitute product suggestions.

Order Confirmation

An email confirmation will be sent to you as soon as we receive your order. Another email will be sent notifying you when your order has been shipped (including a tracking number when available).

If you have not received any emails from Sailrite, check your spam folder. You will need to manually add no-reply@sailrite.com to your approved domain list in order to receive future emails from us.
