Replacement sanding sleeves for the Sailrite® Leather Burnishing Machine. These sanding sleeves are 2 inches long and 2 inches in diameter, making them a perfect fit for the sanding drum on the burnishing machine. The outer surface of the sleeves is covered in an aluminum oxide grit that is durable, strong, and ideal for abrading and polishing. The inner surface of the sleeves is covered in smooth cloth for easy installation and removal from the sanding drum.
These sanding sleeves come in a range of grits for different leatherworking tasks. Coarse or low-grit sleeves are named with low numbers and leave a rough finish on leather. Fine or high-grit sleeves are named with high numbers and leave an extra-smooth finish. Medium-grit sleeves fall within this number range and leave a smooth finish.
Available Grits & Recommended Uses:
- 36 Grit: Leaves a rough finish on the sanded item. Recommended for thinning and skiving leather.
- 80 Grit: Leaves a rough finish on the sanded item. Recommended for leveling very uneven leather edges and for skiving.
- 120 Grit & 180 Grit: Leave a smooth finish on the sanded item. Recommended for leveling slightly uneven leather edges and for light sanding.
- 240 Grit & 320 Grit: Leave an extra-smooth finish on the sanded item. Recommended for smoothing edges before burnishing with the burnishing machine.
These sanding sleeves are available in various packs to help you get the number and grit you need for your leather projects. Choose a 2-, 5- or 10-pack of a single grit. Or, choose the Full Grit Range pack, which includes two sleeves of each grit.
