Parasol™ Ocean Blue 118" Shade Cloth Fabric
When you need shade sails, choose Parasol™ fabric by Polyfab™! Originally created to withstand the harsh Australian heat, this high-performance, commercial grade knitted shade cloth fabric is made of 100% polyethylene. It is manufactured using a combination of high-density monofilament and tape, providing protection from up to 95% of UV radiation that can cause skin damage — earning it the official seal of approval from the Melanoma International Foundation. Ocean Blue features an 87.4% shade factor.
Parasol is created by Polyfab, a leader in shade application fabric. With a high strength-to-weight ratio, UV performance and dimensional stability, this fabric is an ideal choice for shade sails, tension structures and other heavy duty applications. You can utilize Parasol in shade applications around swimming pools, yards, beaches, parks, camping grounds and anywhere else sun protection is needed.
Parasol Ocean Blue is a solid bright blue fabric that is sure to retain it’s color and shape for years to come. This fabric features a 10-year warranty so you can have peace of mind choosing it for your next shade application. There is no right or wrong side to this fabric, but it is recommended to use the “smooth” side facing the sun and the “rough” side facing down. This will allow the fabric to be more easily cleaned.
High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) material can be cut with a hotknife and we recommend using one to heat seal any exposed edges of your shade.
Please Note: Your shade sail canopy or shade structure should be installed firm and tight so as to reduce windflap in the shade cloth fabric. Shade cloth fabric that is loose and sloppy will cause premature failure due to mechanical breakdown. This is not UV breakdown and is not covered by the warranty. The shade sail will require periodic maintenance to ensure that the shade cloth fabric remains tight.
Care & Cleaning: Your shade cloth canopy may become dirty over time. Care should be taken to avoid chemicals that may contain bleach, or other industrial chemicals containing sulphur and/or halogens (chlorine bromine). These chemicals may attack the UV stabilizers within the shade cloth, thus reducing the life of the product and voiding the warranty. Utilizing a mild soap, gently remove any soil with a soft scrubbing brush. Rinse with a low pressure water hose. We do not recommend the use of high pressure water to blast the fabric clean.
Storage: If you remove the shade sail over winter, ensure that it is stored away from rodents and other pests, preferably stored in a protective bag. Make sure the fabric is completely dry before putting away to avoid mildew damage.
Shipping Note: This fabric is rolled and shipped center-folded.
