Seal raw thread ends with ease! The Sailrite^® Battery Operated Thread Burner is a quick-heating, handheld tool perfect for DIYers. It allows for precise application of heat and replaces the use of a lighter to trim and seal synthetic thread ends, making it a safer, more accurate way to seal thread and prevent it from unraveling.

Use the Thread Burner instead of tying off thread ends for a cleaner and more professional-looking sewing project. Simply cut the synthetic thread or hand-whipped wax twine with the Thread Burner approximately 1/4" from the surface of your material. Next, use the fine tip of the Thread Burner to melt the loose thread or twine until it is very close to the material surface. Remove the Thread Burner and press the melted thread down onto the material with your thumb, creating a button or mushroom head. The melted thread is hot, so it is recommended to wet your thumb first if you have sensitive skin.

To operate the tool: Simply insert AA batteries, slide the safety switch into the "On" position and press down on the button to heat the tip. Then melt and seal the desired thread. You may notice the tip glowing or smoking when it is hot and ready to use. This product includes one installed thread sealer tip, plus an additional replacement tip.

Please Note: There is no protective cap for this tool. Please store the tool in a manner as to prevent damage to the tip. A replacement tip is included with the tool (two tips total), and tips can be purchased separately should yours become damaged. This tool requires three AA batteries (not included). It is not recommended for use with PTFE or natural threads like cotton. Keep out of reach of children.

Warning: This tool is not recommended for cutting fabric, it is only meant to melt thread. Attempting to cut fabric will destroy the replaceable tip.
