Made in the USA.
A Note About Needles: There are two needles included in this package: a straight needle and a curved needle. The curved needle can be used to gain additional leverage when stitching thick materials, as well as to create a smoother finish when stitching inside a seam or along an edge. The curved needle is also used for corner work, as it can help you get into — and out of — tight spaces. However, part of it is a preference as some users prefer the curved needle to the straight needle for all their sewing with the Speedy Stitcher Sewing Awl. It is recommended by the manufacturer to try both and see what feels best to you.
A #4 Straight Needle is also available, which is used with Fine Waxed Polyester Thread for fine sewing (both sold separately), or with sewing machine thread as shown in the video below.

How to Use Speedy Stitcher
The Speedy Stitcher Sewing Awl is great for sewing when a sewing machine is not available or not feasible. This video shows using the Sewing Awl with the waxed twine included with the kit and a #8 straight needle.
Speedy Stitcher Using Sewing Machine Thread
The Speedy Stitcher comes with waxed twine, but many Sailrite customers want to know if lighter sewing machine threads, like V-69, V-92, or V-138, can be used instead as lighter thread would look better than large twine in certain applications. See this demonstration on how to use the Speedy Stitcher Sewing Awl with the #4 Needle (sold separately) and Sewing Machine Thread.
Using the Speedy Stitcher to Sew Webbing & Canvas
The Speedy Stitcher Sewing Awl can be used when a sewing machine is not available or practical. Here we will sew up some webbing on a sailboat's tack corner to make a "dog ear". Then we will show how to use the speedy stitcher sewing awl to sew canvas using a lighter sewing machine thread rather than the heavier wax twine that comes with the Speedy Stitcher.
