Plus, DuraWax shows scuffs and folds, creating a rich patina without weakening. Your log carrier will have a rugged look that’s right at home in the great outdoors.

How to Make a Log Carrier

1. Cut the DuraWax into a 36-inch by 18-inch rectangle.

2. With the top edge of your clear acrylic ruler, measure in 3 inches from one corner of the DuraWax. Then rotate the ruler, keeping the top corner at the 3-inch mark on the canvas. Turn the ruler until its 5-inch mark matches up with the perpendicular edge of the canvas. Cut the corner along the resulting diagonal line.

3. Repeat step 2 with the other three corners.

4. Fold all edges inward by 1/2 inch. Press these single hems down with the metal end of the canvas patterning ruler.

5. Repeat step 4 so all sides are folded in twice to create double hems.

6. Starting 1/4 inch from the fabric edge, topstitch around the perimeter of the canvas piece.

7. Measure and cut 8 feet of webbing. Arrange it on the DuraWax so that there is an equal loop of webbing on each end to form handles. Secure the webbing to the DuraWax with sewing pins.

8. Overlap the two cut webbing ends and pin them together.

9. Sew the webbing on. Start at the top of one side, near the handle. Sew all the way around the webbing strip in a rectangle. Stop at the same spot where you started.

10. Repeat step 9 on the other webbing strip to finish securing your handles.

11. Fill your completed log carrier with wood and carry it to your firepit!

This durable carrier is large enough to hold several logs.
