This is a replacement part for the Sailrite Professional Sewing Machine. The spring attaches between the arm casting and the reverse stitch lever. It applies constant upward pressure to the lever, resulting in the machine operating in forward sewing at all times unless the lever is pressed down to engage the reverse function. Once released, the lever rises due to the spring to resume forward sewing.
