Replacement Shock Cord for Stayput™ Cover Clip Black (Large)

If the shock cord in your Stayput™ Cover Clips has become stretched out or degraded from the sun’s harsh UV rays, you can prolong the life of the clip by replacing just the shock cord. This replacement cord is just the right length to match your existing black, large Stayput Shock Cord Cover Clip.

To replace the cord, set your cover clip face up in a vice or resting in the opening of a 7/8-inch socket. Then insert a 1/8-inch punch into the hole in the face of the cover clip. Hit the punch with a mallet and the back of the clip should pop off. Flip the clip over and install the new shock cord. Replace the back cover and hit with a mallet to secure it in place.
