How to Build a Sheet Bag With Pocket for Winch Handle

There are several different ways to make a sheet bag for your boat. This method includes making a sheet bag with a pocket to accommodate the winch handle. In this two-part video series, you'll learn how to measure, cut, sew and assemble this unique sheet bag design with pockets. The sheet bag measures 24-1/2 inches long x 12-3/4 inches high. Let's get started on this easy DIY project.
The first step of the first video is to draw your cut lines onto the mesh fabric. Then, you can cut them out with scissors. You don't need a hotknife for Phifertex® mesh fabric because it does not unravel the way canvas fabric does. Next, we'll show you how to sew your bag together and how to add the elastic strap at the top.
In the second video, we continue assembling and sewing our sheet bag with a pocket for the winch handle. In this video, we're continuing to sew the bag parts together. One of the last steps of the sheet bag construction is to add the Loxx® Pull It Up Fasteners in the corners of the bag. The screw stud parts of this fastener assembly are screwed into your boat and that's how the sheet bags are attached to the boat.
