Best tool for our needs
Deluxe Lever Hand Punch is Essential.
We got a job to do on a sailboat that required replacement of the Dodger. Although we have tools for other applications we did not have the tool for installing new Dot Fasteners. The Delux Lever Hand Punch tool was a new asset for installations . If you have a project that requires multiple Dot Fasteners this tool is essential for the job. It is expensive but cuts time and labor. Worth every dime.
Crazy good
After getting over the price, this is a GREAT tool! My personal opinion is those of us with less experience need better tools that folks with experience who can make do with a penknife. Tools that help us instead of fight us. This is it! I only needed to install 15 eyelets but I did not have a good place to pound the cheaper punch tool, or climb on and off the boat to work, these were perfect. Even with the high price I figure I saved time and money over hiring the canvas work (which around us is a 3-4 month waiting list).
This tool makes installing eyelets much easier.
I use this Common Sense Deluxe Punch tool to install eyelets without having to remove panels. Working with large panels on a sportfisher it's so much easier then the punch style cutter. I used the Deluxe Hand Punch Tool to go through 3 layers of Stamoid. It worked well but it did require quite a bit of force to get it to go through the material.
The only show in town
It’s a great tool, but ridiculously priced for what it is. It also cuts a round hole instead of an oval hole to match the sockets. In addition it would need to be cut apart to sharpen or replace components. So...not perfect.
Not Recommended
This product is a good idea, but the tolerances aren’t tight enough. Instead of punching out the required hole for the bracket it would pull the fabric through the bottom hole, leaving you a spot of mangled fabric. Save your money and keep the hammer punch vs this.
