Spare part and cleat instructions when most needed
So glad this was available as spare part. Really good service from Sailrite with installation instructions via email.
Just what I needed to fix my machine
Repair in the age of videos
I have used my machine for major sail and bimini repair on my 64 foot Tayana, as well as upholstery repair. No problems but after two years it broke. Took a picture and sent to Sailrite, looked at a video, ordered part, repaired, and back in business for about 14 bucks.
Technical support is first class !
I was fooling around with my LSZ 1 and jammed a piece of hard plastic under the needle arm which resulted in breaking the needle crank arm inside the machine. I was right in the middle of a cushion project and thought it would be delayed for weeks while the machine wad sent in for repair. Eric Grant assured me I could replace the $10.95 part myself and the tech support group sent me a 'how to' video. I overnighter the part and since the shipping charges were not increased by adding some needed supplies I ordered them at the same time. By the next day the part arrived, was installed and I was back in business. The support from Sailrite is great. You couldn't ask for a better company to do business with.
This product was fine. What was not was the fact that the screw that goes into it is a reverse thread and is not marked as such on it. Only learned that after my husband twisted the head off it trying to get it out and then I needed to order a new screw and shipping was more than the cost of the screw, never mind that it put me out of operation for another week waiting for the part! There in the parts section of the manual it identifies it as reverse thread. Would have been sensible if screw itself was marked as reverse thread and package that needle crank arm came in gave a web address for the installation instructions.
