Cut and seal curves, circles and angles with incredible ease and accuracy with this precision cutting blade for the Sailrite® Edge Hotknife. With the included cutting foot, you do not need a cutting glass to protect your work surface. The domed top moves across fabric beautifully without getting caught.

One of the most innovative ways to use this cutting foot upgrade is during quick and easy zipper installations. When sewing a quick and easy zipper into a cushion panel, you typically use scissors to cut a slit in the fabric and reveal the zipper teeth. But this leaves the fabric edges raw and unable to be hemmed or bound, resulting in fabric fraying. This foot cuts and seals your fabric edges for a much more professional-looking project without fraying fabric.

Another great use for this specialty blade is when cutting holes in marine canvas for boat vent installation and enclosure access points. Use it to safely reveal a vinyl window when a canvas layer needs to be cut away close to the perimeter stitch line. When cutting a slit in fabric to expose zipper teeth or a vinyl window, you must have the foot installed so you don’t melt the zipper or vinyl.

This specialty cutting blade is a must-have upgrade for your hotknife. It's compatible with both the Sailrite® Edge Hotknife and the Sailrite® Edge Cordless Hotknife 18V.

IMPORTANT: This hotknife blade is very thin. Because of this, the blade may break if it becomes too hot or is kept at a constant high temperature for prolonged periods of time. For best results, always cycle the power of the hotknife by alternately pressing and releasing the trigger for a few seconds each. This should keep the blade hot enough to cut, but not allow it to heat up to the point of breaking. If the blade is cherry red, release the trigger and allow it to cool before continuing to cut.
