Cut and seal synthetic fabric, rope and webbing with this fantastic, easy-to-use Hotknife Package. Fabric, rope and webbing will fray and unravel when cut with scissors, but the Edge Hotknife provides a clean, sealed edge. The hotknife is trigger-operated and heats to a maximum temperature of 400°C in 4-6 seconds. A great tool for cruisers, the Edge Hotknife has a max power draw of 60 watts and will easily run off of an inverter.

With the Sailrite® Edge Hotknife, Tempered Cutting Glass and two additional blades, your next project will be off to a great start. The F Blade makes straight cuts across webbing, rope, binding and trim. The HSO Blade cuts sharp corners and is great for detail work. The Tempered Cutting Glass provides a safe, heat-resistant foundation to cut materials on without damaging your tabletop.

Warranty: Sailrite warrants the Edge Hotknife (with exception of the blades) for a period of 1 year starting from the date of sale. The guarantee is given against defects in material and workmanship. This warranty is voided by improper use, disassembly, repair or alteration by owner or unauthorized parties.

Please Note: This product should be used on synthetic fabrics only. Do not use this hotknife on natural fabrics such as cotton or leather.

Hot knifing on the glass is outstanding and prevents stuff being unwanted and attached to the bottom cut surface as previously happened. The hot knife works great, and I appreciate the on-off switch so that I don't have a hot knife on all of the time. I was surprised it is as heavy as it is, but will get used to it as the on-off switch makes it easier and safer to use.

Cuts like butter...

This makes my use of polyester webbing so much easier! The hotknife is really easy to use, and I love the glass cutting plate. I can't wait to use it on my marine ropes too.

great knife. Haven't watched the video yet to figure out how to attach the plate guide, directions that were included weren't very clear.

Hot Knife, Excellent Tool

Now this is the way to cut fabric and cordage! How many times have I used a flame on the edge of material a nod cordage to prevent tethered more! This knife is excellent, wish I had this tool all my working life. Quick story, made tie downs using nylon rope on a boat cover years ago. Burnt the ends of the rope with lighter. Returned days later to remove the cover, found one of the ropes had burnt all the way to the cover and burnt the cover at the point of tie down. I simply thought the flame was distinguished upon melting the end...could have had serious ending. The hot knife should minimize the possibility of a residual flame after curing the ends.

Hot knife

I use this hot knife to cut webbing. I make straps for my product and I use to cut the webbing by hand and singe each piece with a lighter. This knife cuts and singes every strap fast and effective. Saves me time!! I love it!! Thank you!

Great addition to SailRite tool box. Cuts through thick and thin sail cloth and leaves a finished edge. The tempered glass is a valuable addition to the package, preventing damage and residue from the work surface.
