Description
Shelter-Rite® is a tough, waterproof, vinyl-coated polyester fabric with a matte finish on the outer side. This fabric is designed for high performance and flexibility; use for tough applications where high tear strength, high tensile strength, high adhesion and exceptional weather resistance are main applications. With a high abrasion and tear resistance, Shelter-Rite is perfect for chafe protection — protecting and reinforcing worn or stressed areas. Use Shelter-Rite for heavy-duty protective marine tarps, RV skirts and RV tarps.
Use with the matte side (smooth surface with dull, flat finish) facing out.
Pro Tip: For quick construction, use HH-66 Vinyl Cement to permanently bond Shelter-Rite fabric together. HH-66 Vinyl Cement dries in minutes and remains flexible. Sew for a neater looking finished product.

Worked perfectly for repairing several tears in a spa cover. We have an oak tree whose acorns wreaked havoc on the cover last fall. Thank you for rescuing our cover!
This fabric worked wonderfully for patching a hot tub cover. Easy to use, great adhesion with the HH-66 cement and looks great.
My hot tub cover was coming apart at the seams. Patching it with this Sailrite product has made it stronger than when it was brand new. Great product. Great price.
Great material to support the edges, wear points, and around the snaps of my boat covers.
great stuff
Stands up to brutal conditions. Fantastic when used to repair very old hot tub cover.
I wish I knew about this cement and the shelter-rite fabric vinyl long ago! I used it to repair a 10-year-old hot tube cover that costs $450 to replace. I used this vinyl to cover ripped seams and exposed styro at all the seams. Worked like a charm. Usually, after rain, the cover absorbed tons of water and was nearly impossible to lift. Now it's dry as a bone and shows no sign of wearing after months in the baking sun and 100% humidity. It's the strongest vinyl I have ever used. Totally bulletproof.
Good choice
Seemed to work great on hot tub cover. Would be nice to have more color choices for vinyl.
Ideal for my project.
Great fabric!
Used for abrasive areas where heavy zippers rub and snap reinforcement on boat enclosure.
Hot Tub Cover repair
I do not say this often, The Shelter-Rite fabric exceeded my expectations. I used it to repair a few tears and rips on my hot tube cover. The fabric bonded to the cover like a second skin. Since I purchased a yard, I was able to make multiple patches and have lots of fabric to spare for future use and will not need to purchase a new cover. I used the HH-66 glue and it was easy to work with.
