3M™ Foam Fast 74 CA Spray Adhesive has an aggressive tack that offers a high initial grab with foam-tearing strength, yet allows sufficient open time to position materials properly. Great for bonding foam together, general upholstery, foam lamination, installing acoustic panels, and crafts and hobbies. High-solids content supports its low soak-in property, allowing time to position the bonded surfaces for the best fit. This attribute also provides higher coverage than competing spray adhesives and helps create soft, non-dimpling glue lines. The lace spray pattern of non-yellowing adhesive, combined with fast tack, a strong bond and clean appearance, make it ideal for bonding foam and fabric onto a wide variety of materials, including paper, cardboard, plastic, metal, wood and much more. This adhesive is CARB and SCAQMD compliant, GREENGUARD® certified and helps contribute to LEED® credits.

Features:

  • Offers a fast, aggressive tack for quick assembly of high-stress bonds.
  • Adjustable-width lace spray pattern covers surfaces easily with little overspray.
  • Non-yellowing formula dries clear.

Directions for Use:

  • 1. Clean bonding surfaces to remove dust, dirt, oil, etc., before application of the adhesive.

  • 2. Select spray pattern width by turning the spray tip to the desired setting.

  • 3. Shake the can well before each use; 5-10 seconds should be sufficient.

  • 4. Hold can 3-5 inches from the surfaces and apply a uniform coat of adhesive.

  • 5. Spray both surfaces to be bonded; one surface bonding is not recommended.

  • 6. Allow adhesive to dry until aggressively tacky. Test for tackiness by gently touching the adhesive with your knuckle. If the adhesive is tacky and does not transfer to your skin, it is ready to bond.

  • 7. Apply sufficient pressure to ensure complete contact of surfaces to be bonded.

  • 8. To prevent the spray nozzle from blocking: At the end of each day, turn the can upside down and press the tip until spray is clear from adhesive. Clean the spray tip with turpentine.

  • 9. Excess adhesive and overspray can be removed from hard surfaces using 3M™ Specialty Adhesive Remover (#108984)
