Description
Stainless Steel Grommets are the toughest and strongest spur grommets we carry. They are much stronger than nickel-plated brass spur grommets and should be used for critical, high-load applications — however, they are not as corrosion-resistant as nickel-plated brass. They can be much harder to install (much harder metal requires more hits with a mallet to roll the male portion of the grommet in the die set), but when installed they will not easily come out and do last longer.
Spur grommets are not as strong as sewn rings, but they are much more quickly installed. Do not confuse these grommets with the common washer grommets that are sold in hardware stores everywhere. Spur grommets are of heavier metal with spurs all around the inside rim of the washer that lock into a rolled edge on the barrel part of the grommet. As a result, they will not easily pull out of the fabric.
Stainless only available in #2 size. Made from type 305 Stainless Steel.
Note: Spur grommets cannot be installed with common washer grommet tools. Stainless Steel Spur Grommets #2 also cannot be used with the W-1 Hand Press. Use a #2 die with a #2 spur grommet.
