Description
This is a smooth, bonded polyester outdoor thread that is perfect for sail and canvaswork. Bonded Dabond polyester thread has high strength and stretch control, stability in sunlight (UVR), and resistance to needle heat, abrasion, saltwater and mildew. This polyester thread very seldom frays at the needle eye, and the consistent bonded finish minimizes the need for continual machine tension adjustments. Perfect for use on sails, tents, boat covers, awnings, outdoor canvas covers and tarps.
Use this V-138 thread with a #20 or #22 needle on fabrics over 10 ounces per square yard. This thread size is not suitable for use on a home sewing machine.
Sailmaker's thread should pull up off the top of the cone for a smoother feed to the sewing machine and to add an extra twist in the thread. The extra twist increases thread strength, helps keep the thread from unlaying, and eases tension problems.
Features:
- Bonded thread, polyester
- UV resistant
- Left-twist thread
- Heat and abrasion resistant
- Mildew resistant

This is some tough stuff
USE THE CORRECT THREAD WEIGHT FOR YOUR MARINE PROJECTS
This is the thread weight (V138) that professional boat canvas companies use. Using a polyester thread with a lighter weight just doesn't hold up or last nearly as long. A heavy thread is also easier to use. Be sure to sew a few test runs and adjust your top and bobbin thread tension accordingly.
It works
