This is a whole hide of chrome tanned pigskin suede. This 2-3 oz. leather is incredibly flexible and soft, and the suede finish gives it a high-end look and feel at an economical price point. The thin weight and flexibility make it a great choice for bag liners. Chrome tanned leather cannot be stamped or tooled. 

This split hide has a soft and flexible temper, making it feel like fabric. While soft and supple it has minimal stretch, which makes it a great choice for linings and garments. The leather is dyed throughout and features a dimpled texture unique to pigskin. Since it's a split, both sides of the hide feature the same velvety suede finish.

What Is Chrome Tanned Leather?

Chrome tanned leather is the most common tanning process. Chrome tanned leathers use chemical compounds such as chromium that speed up the tanning process, which allows the leather to be tanned in just days. Because of the faster production time, chrome tanned leather is often less expensive than vegetable tanned leather. Chrome tan leather is also typically softer and thinner than veg tan. Leather Patina

Chrome tanned leather will patina but not as significantly as vegetable tanned leather. With use and time, chrome tanned leather will develop a shine that adds character to the finished item. The color may also slightly darken over a long period of time, but not to a significant degree.
