Top Gun® is the ultimate acrylic-coated fabric that provides unrivaled durability, as well as superior tear and abrasion resistance. Woven from 100% polyester, this 600 denier fabric utilizes a proprietary coating process on both the top and bottom, making it completely reversible. The special formulated acrylic coating will not crack or peel, even in extreme heat and subzero temperatures. Top Gun is an exterior marine grade fabric, excellent for marine and outdoor covers, biminis, T-tops, dodgers and enclosures. It can also be used as chafe reinforcement for highly abrasive areas.

Care & Cleaning: Accumulation of dirt and droppings can support the growth of mildew and mold, as well as result in fabric staining, and should be removed periodically. Fabric may be cleaned with a solution of 4 ounces of bleach and 2 ounces of mild soap mixed in one gallon of warm water. Do NOT use detergents. For soil embedded in the fabric surface, use a soft bristled brush to loosen and lift. Rinse thoroughly with clear water to remove soil and soap residue.

Please Note: To avoid growth of mildew, do not fold and store this fabric while wet. After a thorough cleaning and drying, water repellency may be reduced. This can be improved through an application of AquaTite® Green.

Note: The term denier refers to the fiber thickness of individual threads or filaments used in the creation of textiles and fabrics. Fabrics with a high denier count tend to be thick, sturdy and durable.

Top Gun is Top Gun

Cuts well with Sailrite Hot Knife. Profilin clear #107128 with a #18 needle on a Sears Kenmore early '70s Model 158 3 layers not a problem (still saving for the LSZ PLUS). Seamstick great to use with. Use a non-grease non-graphite marking utensil, however all markings I made were easy to remove. Avoid making creases when handling material while sewing, They do not fall out as easily as non coated material. ALL in ALL great product, and I am consider using it in applications where Sunbrella marine is my normal go to.

you don't always need sunbrella.

for applications where long life and good wear resistance is of maximal importance. you have to decide if you want it to feel like cloth and breath a little or last a really long time and never wear through on a corner and stay completely waterproof. this stuff doesn't breath but i think customers overestimate the need for breathability in a cover or top. if you need both breathability and abrasion resistance check out weathermax. i always try to push people towards this material for any kind of mooring or winter cover, it takes a lot to wear through and is unbelievably tear resistant. my mooring cover is made from this material and has withstood over 15 years of abuse... eventually the acrylic coating on the outside of your cover will start to go away but there is still mils left on the inside of the fabric. it stretches a bit for a very tight fit or some give if you need it. very good stuff.
