This is a high performance, twisted multifilament polyester outdoor thread that is perfect for sail and canvaswork. Sunstop® polyester thread has advanced UV protection that is specially designed for outdoor applications where seam strength and fade prevention are required. Sunstop Thread also features a non-wicking finish that helps to reduce moisture coming through seams. This polyester thread very seldom frays at the needle eye, and the consistent bonded finish minimizes the need for continual machine tension adjustments. Use this V-69 thread with a #16 or #18 needle. Perfect for use on sails, tents, boat covers, awnings, outdoor canvas covers and tarps.
Sailmaker's thread should pull up off the top of the cone for a smoother feed to the sewing machine and to add an extra twist in the thread. The extra twist increases thread strength, helps keep the thread from unlaying, and eases tension problems.
- Improved resistance to strength loss from UV exposure over standard polyester filament thread
- Good seam strength
- UV resistant
- Non-wick treatment to limit moisture migration
- Consistent diameter and excellent ply

I love the way this thread stitches. It not only looks great but is very strong. I won’t worry about the seams on my cushions.
Worked great with the Phifertex fabric.
Easy to use, First time making large Golf Cart seats. Was very pleased with this product.
Perfect strong thread for my project
Better than I expected.
I was worried it would not work with my home sewing machine but it was great. I did buy #18 needles for bulky fabrics and they may have helped things go so smoothly.
Good product. Strong thread for the project!
Great color, good subdued color
The right thread for the right project!
This is great thread! I was able to use this thread in my home sewing machine to create new slings for my garden chairs. It sewed easy with very few incidents of missed stitches and machine jams.
