We’ve been doing some last minute updates and repairs ahead of our trip north. I finished up some canvas projects to give us a bit more shade and a better privacy cover for the door. Against all odds, both of my patterns and execution worked out nearly perfectly. I wanted to make a full enclosure, but I’m starting with this cover to see if we actually need anything more elaborate. I’ve had my sailrite Ultrafeed LS for almost a year now. I built up my skills on some non-boat canvas projects. We’re also adding a bit of length to our anchor. Going from 15” chain and 150” line to 50” and 200”. I’ll finish up this splice with the hot knife later. More concerning was the high voltage alarm on the smart shunt monitoring the house bank. Turns out it was just was badly corroded and showing some wildly high voltage readings. That got replaced with the IP65 version. It was nice to have fisheriessupply somewhat close to home so I did not have to order this part. One could argue that I should have had the IP65 version from the onset. 😞 Second we had a minor fuel leak at the connection for the sender. That’s also fixed, but we got some help from kingsalmonmarine on that one. 🥳 Not pictured is that we scraped, sanded, primed, and painted the door frame. The paint was bubbling. The likely culprit is from salt water spraying everywhere when Murphy shakes off in the cockpit. There’s more to do on this, but that’s a future Kristi problem. That’s kind of a lot in addition to buying and moving into a new boathouse. Now we are ready for packing and final prep!
