Outdoor lounge cushion
I promised my hubs that the first make in the US will be a new cover for the lounge cushion that I disassembled a month ago 😄 so here it is! Brand new cover, following very clear instructions from a YouTube video from sailrite. Only modification was that I added boxed corners. I really like that two zipper solution in the hinge!

Sewing Tool Roll #2 – The tools used during project assembling needed a home, too.
This second go at a tool roll for my sewing tools came with a lot of learning opportunities. I had an idea for simplifying the construction process with two subassemblies instead of three, but made a drafting error and ended up having to patch in more material to make the back long enough. I figured I might as well lean into it as a design feature and gave the seam the same topstitching treatment.
Speaking of topstitching, it got pretty wonky. What I initially thought was a tension issue turned out to be the needle. I popped a new one in and the issue was resolved. Lesson(s) learned!
In the end, all the issues and frustrations are minor and the tool roll is perfectly functional. I'm very happy to have it in service!

Sewing Tool Roll #1 – It's long past time for my fabric cutting tools to have a proper home.
I've been wanting a tool roll for my scissors, rotary cutters, and spare blades and finally got around to making one this week. This is the first time I've used a complete digital process from iterating on design ideas, to constructing a pattern, and finally to projecting that pattern for cutting. It worked well and I'm sure I'll become more proficient at it with practice.
Speaking of practice, I have ideas for improving the construction process, so look for a Sewing Tool Roll #2 in the near future. That one will hold tools used during project construction.

Oooh, I LOVE this color! The name is "butterscotch" - yes please! I increased the size of this popular hip bag 10%, so there's a touch more room for the things you need to carry with you. I've included a photo of the size difference (dark bag is in the shop, smaller brown bag is sold).
The waxed canvas exterior is super rugged, and the interior is lined with waterproof canvas. One zippered pocket on the outside and one on the inside, plus two slip pockets. If you don't like to carry a wallet, your ID, credit card, and cash will stay secure in the interior zipper pocket. The exterior zippered pocket is large enough for your big smartphone. I added 1.5" wide beige/caramel v-shape design strap, just for fun!
