On the other hand, zigzag stitches are beneficial if you are planning to make specific projects. The zigzag stitch allows you to create a stratchy seam that will elongate and a broad stitch width that holds down wide seam areas well. It is also a more decorative stitch and easy to remove with a seam ripper if you make a mistake.
