The inside presser foot has an open channel in front of the needle that allows you to see where the needle will pierce the material. It also makes it easier to follow a marked line on your application for straight and accurate sewing. Rounding out the set is the matching feed dog with a smooth surface that won't scratch or mar the underside of your leather. This set is best used for consistent thickness sewing. It will not transition large bumps well since the feeding surfaces are smooth.
