This Waxed Canvas Backpack Kit comes with all the supplies you need to sew your own custom-made, high-quality backpack. The backpack is made from DuraWax™ Light Waxed Canvas, a rugged and durable waxed cotton duck fabric. Waxed canvas develops a patina when the fabric is folded, scratched or scuffed. This adds to the beauty and rugged look of this material. Like a full grain leather, waxed canvas looks better with age and wear.

The pattern comes pre-plotted on reusable Sailrite® Patterning Material. The pattern pieces are even numbered for you, making assembly a breeze. Once the patterning material template pieces are cut out, you can reuse them again and again with new fabric to make as many backpacks as you want. A removable plastic insert attaches to the inside bag bottom with hook-and-loop tape to help the backpack keep its shape.

Please Note: This kit does not come with leather dye for the leather accent pieces. If you wish to dye your leather you will need to order Fiebing's Leather Dye separately. There are no written instructions for this kit. We have made a detailed how-to instructional video, found in the image carousel above, on how to sew and assemble the backpack.
