Create a comfortable, custom seating environment on your porch or patio with high-quality outdoor living foam from Sailrite®. This type of foam is uniquely designed for the ideal blend of comfort and durability, with added features that helps it endure when exposed to constant sun, weather fluctuations and moisture. These foams are best-suited for patio furniture applications, but they are also a solid choice for boat upholstery projects, such as pontoon seats, powerboat seats, saloon seats, helm seats and home décor cushions. We offer a variety of exterior seating foam in a range of thicknesses for a comfortable feel.
The most common type of patio furniture foam we offer at Sailrite is Medium Density Polyurethane Antimicrobial Foam. This traditional foam is the standard for most outdoor seating applications and has a density of 1.8 pounds. This type of foam is appropriate for applications where rain and moisture are a concern, but it does soak up water like a sponge and tends to dry relatively slowly. For very wet environments, you may prefer Dry Fast Foam. This type of foam features an open-cell construction that allows water and air to pass through easily, so it dries much quicker than polyurethane (hence the name).
Sailrite also stocks Poly-Fil Nu outdoor furniture foam, which is a good choice for those outdoor crafters on a budget. This foam isn’t technically a foam, but is instead a dense polyester batting that’s mildew-resistant and hand-washable. We only recommend this option in less demanding applications because it does tend to breakdown faster than Dry Fast or Medium Density Polyurethane Antimicrobial Foam.
